Blast kills Miss. native in Iraq
N.Y. resident among four soldiers from Fort Hood killed last week

FORT HOOD, Texas — A Pascagoula native was among four Fort Hood soldiers killed last week in Iraq, according to the Defense Department.
Spc. Michael S. Weger, 30, listed Rochester, N.Y. as home, but he was born in Pascagoula.
Weger entered the Army in February 2003 and had been assigned to Fort Hood since June 2003.
Weger is the 18th Mississippian killed in Iraq. Weger's relatives could not be reached for comment Sunday night.
His Humvee was struck by an improvised explosive in Baghdad on Tuesday, officials said. The accident also killed Capt. Dennis L. Pintor, 30, of Lima, Ohio, and Spc. Jaime Moreno, 28, of Round Lake Beach, Ill. Weger and Pinter died of their injuries Tuesday. Moreno died of his injuries Wednesday.
