Kerry reels off biting double attack on Bush
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20041018/pl_afp/us_vote_kerry_041018191931&e=2

Democrat challenger John Kerry reeled off a biting attack on President George W. Bush, charging him with making Americans more vulnerable to terror and less healthy by eroding healthcare.

Kerry's tone was noticeably more sarcastic and sneering than in previous speeches, as the race for the White House turned increasingly negative two weeks and one day before the November 2 election.

He accused Bush of "clinging to the idea" that great progress was being made in Iraq and told him to "come clean" on unflattering reports the Democrat said the president was receiving from generals.

"Mr President, you can chose to ignore the facts, but in the end you can't hide the truth from the American people. "The bottom line Mr President: your mismanagement of the war has made Iraq and America less safe and secure than they could have been and should have been today."

I LOVE this man!!!!! Go Kerry Go!!!!!

1. Kerry is correct on both counts
We are more vulnerable to terror and less healthy because of dumbya.

Sometimes I think that W and his minions keep people terrified and sick precisely because people are easier to control when they are sick and scared.

2. Sneering?
I'm a bit ticked at the use of the word "sneering," as that has such nasty connotations. I didn't think he was at all "sneering," just strong!

But then I saw the corresponding coverage of Bush in Yahoo from AFP and at least they point out he was "newly fierce -- and frequently misleading."

JUST SAY IT! USE THE L WORD! LYING! LYING!

11. I just posted to the Yahoo news message board
pointing out the use of that word. I wouldn't mind if the word "smirking" was used every time Bush made a speech. But, of course, the biased media NEVER does that (except for the debate performance).

6. No, he isn't a reporter, but a Bushevik Propagandist
Plain and simple.

No wonder he didn't sign his (or her) monstrously Orwellian work.

9. It's a normal phrase in English
perhaps it's more common in British English - it means 'to say quickly and confidently' like "he reeled off the statistics that proved the economy was in big trouble".

From Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable:
Right off the reel: without intermission, continuously. From the use of a reel for winding rope, etc.

15. Yeah, I understand, but...
to say Kerry "reeled off a biting attack" sounds like he's fishing to me. I just find it a poor choice of words. Is the writer implying he thinks Kerry was attacking "without intermission, continuously"???

Why couldn't the idiot just tell us what Kerry said instead of trying to *characterize* everything? What he did isn't reporting, it's propaganda.

5. Holy SHIT, this is a Bushevik Hit Piece!
Considered from a PR viewpoint (like every single solitary aspect of life in Imperial Amerika is structure upon), this is a crushing blow to Kerry

Kerry is "sneering "sarcastic" "biting" "assault" "complain" (the use of "Kerry complains" is doubly psychomaniuplative because not a handful of paragraphs later Kerry mentions that Bush labeled all his points as 'complaints') "hammered Bush" "blames"

PLUS, note the use of the now-customary "Democrat" slur (instead of calling him or the Party Democratic...semnantically identical to saying "Jew Lawyer" instead of "Jewish Lawyer"")

This was a piece which was written by a Bushevik Mockingbird trying to appear as a journalist but shoving the Second Incarnation of Newt Gingrich's "Language As a Weapon: Contrasting Words" down all our throats like a Soviet Pravda "journalist".

Disgusting unAmerican Orwellian FUCKERS!

Like what Smirky did during all three debates, that kind of sneering? Good grief, this writer is an asshole.

12. I love Kerry too... now..
It takes time to learn about a person during this campaign, but I can honestly say I love John Kerry and think he is a great man and most of all, will make an excellent president.

What I can hardly understand is how anyone can honestly dislike him? Ahh there's the problem... people who say they hate John Kerry just aren't being honest.

13. Here's the deal on the military --

General Reported Shortages In Iraq

The top U.S. commander in Iraq complained to the Pentagon last winter that his supply situation was so poor that it threatened Army troops' ability to fight, according to an official document that has surfaced only now.

The lack of key spare parts for gear vital to combat operations, such as tanks and helicopters, was causing problems so severe, Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez wrote in a letter to top Army officials, that "I cannot continue to support sustained combat operations with rates this low."

He also said units were waiting an average of 40 days for critical spare parts, which he noted was almost three times the Army's average. In some Army supply depots in Iraq, 40 percent of critical parts were at "zero balance," meaning they were absent from depot shelves, he said.

He also protested in his letter, sent Dec. 4 to the number two officer in the Army, with copies to other senior officials, that his soldiers still needed protective inserts to upgrade 36,000 sets of body armor but that their delivery had been postponed twice in the month before he was writing.

***********

Having been a Purchasing agent in the USAF during the Vietnam Era I can tell you that THIS Is caused by the Rummy "Tooth to Tail" program of companies like Halliburton and Bechtel supplying troops with no Bid contracts - the McSoldiers are being maimed and killed (potentially starved and dehydrated) so that these companies can KEEP THE MONEY, just like any corporation will do.

The supply of the military needs to be done BY THE MILITARY exclusively - this nepotism is a blatant giveaway to Bush's pals and HE should be IMPEACHED or Jailed as he swore an OATH to protect and defend our Nation, and that includes the TROOPS.

GO KERRY!
