US Concerned About Venezuela Human Rights
WASHINGTON -- The State Department expressed "grave concern" Monday about a proposal that would make Venezuelan political activists subject to charges of treason if they receive domestic or foreign funding.

"We believe the proposal, if it becomes law, would criminalize the defense of human rights in Venezuela," spokesman Richard Boucher said.
..........
During the campaign, Chavez protested a grant to Sumate from the Washington-based National Endowment for Democracy, which receives funds from the U.S. Congress.

Boucher said a request pending in court for an arrest warrant for leaders of the group would be a violation of basic standards of justice and human rights.

Boucher said the United States does not believe that Sumate's leaders have violated any Venezuelan laws nor the country's constitution.

2. Hmmmm..
Methinks we (the * junta) are more concerned with their oil than their rights.

Why not quit meddling and let the people in other countries start a resolution if they want to? Like we did, for instance?

Is Venezuela suddenly a threat to us? :wtf:

4. Bush's Bill of Human Rights
A human, under this act, is equal to a large-cap corporation or one of its executives.

You have the right to all of the world's natural resources, including those fundamental to human life.

You have the right to poison aforementioned resources to any degree necessary to increase short-term profits.

You have the right to determine the outcome of any political election in any country where aforementioned resources might be found, including the United States.

You have the right to use the US military to enforce this act.

undermine us? Like let's say Hamas. The charitable arm of Hamas. What would this stupid American get?

The bloody hand of bush* & Co. has already been caught messing in Venezuelan politics when they got caught funding the recount.

What is it about these people that makes them so damn stupid, and bloodthirsty greedy?

P.S. I'm not saying that Hamas (the charitable arm of Hamas) has done us any harm. I'm just using them as an example. I could, I suppose have used any number of groups dedicated to human rights for Palestinians, but Hamas is all I could think of.

6. We just can't let go of this.
Let the Organization of American States handle this. Who made us the judge of Venezuela? Chavez was elected twice. They at least had a "do over." All we got was a 4-5 ruling from the "Soopers." How come we didn't get a "do over?"
