Post-war planning non-existent
An unbelievable account of how Bush has completely fucked the Iraq situation up is here: http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/9927782.htm

This is enough to make you want to cough up a hairball:

"A Knight Ridder review of the administration's Iraq policy and decisions has found that it invaded Iraq without a comprehensive plan in place to secure and rebuild the country. The administration also failed to provide some 100,000 additional U.S. troops that American military commanders originally wanted to help restore order and reconstruct a country shattered by war, a brutal dictatorship and economic sanctions.

In fact, some senior Pentagon officials had thought they could bring most American soldiers home from Iraq by September 2003. Instead, more than a year later, 138,000 U.S. troops are still fighting terrorists who slip easily across Iraq's long borders, diehards from the old regime and Iraqis angered by their country's widespread crime and unemployment and America's sometimes heavy boots.

"We didn't go in with a plan. We went in with a theory," said a veteran State Department officer who was directly involved in Iraq policy."

I though Shrub said nobody asked him for any additional troops. Maybe it depends on what the meaning of "ask" is.

1. No exit plan/post war plan because...
THEY NEVER INTENDED TO LEAVE. PNAC clearly lays out a plan to build multiple air bases in Iraq. They are building or have built a humongous, world class American Embassy over there. Bush Inc./PNAC intended to occupy that area in some fashion for ever. (notwithstanding the oil bonanza)

..Use Iraq as a base to work from then go into other countries and "Liberate" them. :eyes::puke:

"Theory" is exactly right, except Bush fucked it all up. He shoulda done his homework; the middle east doesn't want our kind of "freedom". Traditionally, they like "doing things their way" and end up tossing out on their asses anyone who tries to interfere.

Cheney/PNAC is a failure, and well it should have been. It was a flawed and unethical idea from it's inception.

To avoid duplicates:
Read the Latest Breaking News forum first before posting. Look for high count threads for obvious stories that have a lot of interest and that have been posted previously.
Do a search of a just a few keywords. Running just the title sometimes does not bring up results.
If you don't have the search option because you don't donate, consider donating, or look on the right column of the latest page. Scan the column for posts made in the last day.
