Fox News Channel's star host Bill O'Reilly has canceled a series of TV interviews to promote his new children's book days after a former producer accused him in a lawsuit of sexual harassment, his publisher said on Monday.

The normally outspoken conservative commentator scrapped appearances that had been scheduled for Friday on ABC's "The View" and HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," and for Monday on CBS' "The Early Show," Harper Entertainment spokesman Seale Ballenger told Reuters.

Promotion of the book got caught up in the shower of publicity over a lawsuit brought against O'Reilly last Wednesday by an associate producer, Andrea Mackris, who accused the commentator of pressuring her to engage in phone sex.

"Because of the intense media scrutiny Mr. O'Reilly is currently facing, he and HarperCollins have jointly decided to postpone the final media interviews planned to promote 'The O'Reilly Factor for Kids,"' the publisher said in a statement. "We hope hope to resume the book promotion with Mr. O'Reilly at a later date and we wish him well during this difficult time," it said.

Okay, first things first---O'Reilly's ego is humongeous and he routinely lies and distorts for Repugs...FAUX keeps him on because red-state goofs genuinely beleive in him and give him high ratings...BUT he's a moderate on gay rights (some assine comments aside, he's against the FMA) questioned the Swift Boat Liars pretty well, siad in a column he's eaten dinner with Kerry and likes him, and he's anti-death penalty and has started to question the war in Iraq...this has brought him the wrath of goonie whores like Ann Coulter, who compared O'Reilly to a Nazi for question the SB Thugs...THIS is where it gets interesting for me...See, there are outrageous, raging testosterone screamers like O'Reilly who are conservative but lay claim to be independent, and then there are the Taliban wing of the pundits/"media"...e.g. Limbaugh, Drudge, Coulter, Hannity...crazy as it sounds, here's what I'm getting at...Drudge and O'Reilly hate each other, Drudge and Coulter are best friends, hang out in each other's dressing rooms, etc (WTF?) O'Reilly is a competitor of Limbaugh's and Hannity's, and Hannity, Limbaugh, Drudge, et al routinely express their love for each other...the initial salvo of this story came out with thesmokingun.com, which, the last time I checked, had a banner up for the lunatic David Bossie-funded shit-slinging right-wing film Celsius 41.11 (or whatever...it's too stupid to pay attention) Is this a conspiracy to shut up a moderate leaning, powerful conservative with a lot of viewers? I don't know.

I think that's exactly what she's been doing. She worked for him for 4 years, left for a job at CNN and THEN CAME BACK to work for him? The "juicy details" of her lawsuit would indicate that she tape recorded it or took damn good notes.

The thing is, she didn't report O'Reilly's disgusting behavior to FOX, and O'Reilly's lawsuit points that out. They have a policy on sexual harassment and how to report it, as most large companies do. If she didn't report it, she didn't give FOX a chance to discipline or fire him. She just continued to put up with the "abuse". She didn't even hang up the fucking phone! She's been gunnysacking this in hopes of a big pay off, and that's extortion. He should bring criminal charges against her. I'm no fan of O'Reilly, but this just isn't right.
