Eritrea alleges Sudanese assassination plot

Eritrea has accused the Sudanese government of plotting to assassinate its president, raising the stakes in a months-long series of charges and counter-charges.

Asmara's Information Minister Ali Ahmad said on Monday that Sudan had stepped up its attempts to disrupt peace and stability in Eritrea.

He alleged Khartoum was continuing to pursue "its practice of governmental terrorism and assassination attempts against the president ", but failed to elaborate.
