3. Yee-haw! Bush is my man!
If he can take out one hundred of those infidels all at once, then he is surely protecting my God-fearing nation from the evildoers! I'll bet some of them even spoke French.

9. I read on anti-war this-----
That in some places the Am. were living with the national guard of Iraq, as some type of training program. They did it in Vietnam (did not work) so they will retry it here. Were any Am. killed in this or will we not hear about them?

HUGE IRAQ MORTAR ATTACK

Iraqi authorities say more than 100 Iraqis killed or wounded in a mortar attack on the National Guard headquarters north of Baghdad.

On edit: it seems to be '100 killed or wounded' - you might want to chaneg the thread title.

15. Well, it's the top story now in the BBC website
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3755928.stm

Since it's not in Baghdad, they may not have had time to get cameras there - so only the AP wire report is available.

100 Iraqis killed or wounded in attack

By TINI TRAN
Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- A mortar attack on an Iraqi National Guard headquarters north of Baghdad on Tuesday killed or wounded at least 100 Iraqis, officials said, while U.S. troops battled insurgents in a major city west of the capital.

Six mortar rounds fell on National Guard offices in an early morning attack in Mashahidan, 25 miles north of Baghdad, said Iraqi police and National Guard officers under condition of anonymity.

There was no breakdown on the number of those killed and injured. The Iraqi National Guard has been a target of insurgents trying to undermine U.S.-led security efforts ahead of November national elections.

BAGHDAD, Oct 19 (AFP) - Four Iraqi national guards and a US contractor were killed and 89 people wounded in two mortar attacks in and around Baghdad on Tuesday in the latest deadly strike against US and Iraqi forces, officials said.

Unknown assailants fired mortars on an Iraqi National Guard base in Mashahda, a town about 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Baghdad. The interior ministry said four people were killed and 82 wounded.

The US-led military confirmed an attack on the facility but said no US soldiers had been hurt.
