Appeals court keeps Nader off Ohio ballot

Associated Press

CINCINNATI - A federal appeals court ruled yesterday that it would not grant presidential candidate Ralph Nader an injunction to block a lower court's order that removed him from the Ohio ballot.

Mr. Nader had appealed an Oct. 12 ruling by U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus, who refused to place the independent on the ballot because of fraud by signature collectors.

"The state administrative hearing officer found substantial evidence of fraud by the petition circulators that is supported by the evidence," the panel's decision said.

Nader spokesman Kevin Zeese said the ruling meant Mr. Nader's attempt to get on the Ohio ballot now rests with the Ohio Supreme Court.

2. RE: "Appeals court keeps Nader off Ohio ballot"
Having Nader and Badnarik on the ballots of every state is an example of true democracy.

However, Nader et. al don't seem to understand that he will NEVER be president, no matter how hard he tries. Americans are too rooted in the two-party system. It will probably be anywhere from 50 to 100 years (assuming that the U.S. doesn't become like Northern Ireland) before Americans throw their arms up in disgust and put in more than 1% for an Independent candidate.

Nader's ego is definetly frightening, to be sure.
