BAGHDAD, Oct. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- US forces battled insurgents in the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, Dubai-based al-Arabiya TV channel reported Tuesday.
Fierce clashes erupted on the eastern entrances of the city and near the city hall, the channel said.

US snipers took positions on high buildings as other troops sealed off the city, it added.

There were no immediate reports on casualties.
