US contractor killed in Baghdad attack
BAGHDAD, Oct. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- One US contractor was killed and seven people wounded, including an American soldier, in a mortar attack on a US army compound in central Baghdad on Tuesday, a US military spokesman said.

"We had mortar and rocket propelled grenade fired inside our compound this morning," the spokesman said.

2. And the contractor can quit
Any time they want. And their families back home probably aren't living on WIC.

3. nah, one has an honorable job (soldier), the other is a war profiteer
Contractors are there for the money. The soldier signed up thinking he was going to defend his country and maybe escape poverty. Big difference. The soldier is being screwed over by the government's incompetence and corruption while the contractor hopes to profit by that same government incompetence and corruption.

They can't spell m-e-r-c-e-n-e-r-y??? There is no shame in an honest (exhorbitant) pay for an honest day's work as a mercenary is there? </sarcasm>

6. I feel bad for this war profiteer's family. They don't deserve this.
I have no sympathy for the mercenary (nor do I relish in his death, I'm simply indifferent), but his family shouldn't suffer for his desire to make money of an illegal war and occupation.

I hope they put the blame where it belongs: squarely on the shoulders of the man who lied us into the war, thus making it possible for their loved one to be tempted to go to Iraq.

8. I found this one and two mideast sources.
I chose this one because the story was not mixed up with the
ING barracks mortar attack.

9. Regrettable, but he shouldn't have been there
You just can't be surprised when foreigners come into a country to profit from a war that the natives might get angry and decide to do something about it.
