HOT: Former Michigan governor (R) endorses Kerry.
This is HOT!

<sni-p>
Milliken, Michigan’s moderate, pro-choice governor from 1969-82, said he could no longer remain silent in the face of what he perceives as harmful policies being pursued by the Bush administration. The 82-year-old said it was the first time he has ever publicly endorsed a Democratic presidential candidate.
<end snip>

I met this guy when I was in my teens. The thing I remember most is now nice and personable he was.

1. "Moderate"
You don't have to be "moderate" to endorse Kerry...you have to have a brain and a conscience to know Bush cannot occupy the OVal Office one more day.

5. Good for Milliken. I wish there were more prominent Repubs like him.
I believe John Kerry actually will try to unite this country under his leadership. That may disappoint a lot of us progressives in the short term. But in the long term, it will be the right thing to do for all Americans.

We must never allow another tyrant like Bush to take office.

6. Old-Time Republicans Were a Different Breed
They had different viewpoints, but they respected yours. That all started to end with Spiro Agnew, and was accelerated by Ronald Reagan, Dan Quayle, Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh....
