Kerry: Bush Tax Cuts Hurt Social Security

WILKES BARRE, Pa. - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) said Tuesday that President Bush (news - web sites)'s tax cuts and proposals for the future amount to an "all-out assault" on Social Security (news - web sites).


"On Nov. 2, Social Security is on the ballot," Kerry said. "A choice between one candidate who will save Social Security and another who will undermine it."


Kerry also fought back against the president's accusations that he stands for "protest and defeatism" in Iraq (news - web sites), telling supporters he will bring a fresh start and new credibility to the war effort.


"Have no doubt about it, we will hunt down, capture or kill the terrorists wherever they are in the world," Kerry said.
