32. This really pissed me off -- first responders being short changed

The first responders in this rural area -- are mostly volunteer.

When there is a code "orange" I always ask the first responders if they have any upgrade of their equipment. -- in this west coast state -- with major shipping -- there is no extra training or equipment.

The way the back up system works in this area -- is that the rural departments would be called in to help cover urban areas -- in case of a major event.

Anyway the funding has not yet filtered down to the level of the guys and gals who will be the front line -- if and when domestic terrorism happens again on US soil. A huge contract for a website isn't going to help the firemen/women and EMT etc.

It seems that every time a decision is made -- that the bush gang ALWAYS makes the decision that feathers the beds of their pals -- and to heck with the US citizens.
