Actor Brad Pitt to appear for showing of Kerry film

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Actor Brad Pitt will help introduce a film about Sen. John Kerry and his Vietnam experience during a showing at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Pitt, who is originally from Springfield and attended the university, will join the film's director, George Butler, at Wednesday's showing of "Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry," the MU College Democrats said.

"The fact that Brad Pitt is willing to work with students to promote this critically acclaimed film of Kerry's leadership, character and conviction shows just how important this election is to the future of this country," said Caleb Lewis, president of the student group.
