Son of Republican gubernatorial candidate arrested
JACKSON, Miss. (AP)

The son of Mississippi Republican gubernatorial candidate Haley Barbour was arrested and charged with public drunkenness in Starkville over the weekend.

In a prepared statement, Barbour said his son Reeves, 24, was arrested after Saturday's Oregon-Mississippi State football game as he and several others were leaving a bar shortly before closing time.

"There was no altercation, Reeves was not driving, and no motor vehicle was involved," Haley Barbour said in the statement.

Reeves Barbour has had alcohol problems in the past and received professional counseling two years ago, Haley Barbour said. ---

2. Perhaps he can polish and then recite the 10 commandments for punishment.
Of course, this is after the move of the 'icon' from Montgomery to Missisippi. His penance should do wonders for his father's campaign.

7. Sheesh, at 24, Barbour's son is just a "kid"
This will be easy for the rethugs to chalk up to a little "youthful indiscretion." Thank G_d Henry Hyde and Dubya raised the age bar on that category into the 40s!

8. Remember when Barbour was testifying against Clinton
in a Repug congressional "fundraising scandal" investigation and admitted (inadvertently) to fraudulent fundraising of his own?
