4 US troops killed in Kunar

Taliban have claimed of having killed four US troops in eastern Afghanistan.
A Taliban spokesman Latifullah told Radio Tehran that the Taliban attacked a US military base in the Marawara district of Kunar province.

He said that four US troops were killed during the attack. The US forces and Afghan government offered no comments about the incident.

Six US soldiers killed in South Afghanistan
Saturday October 16, 2004 (1320 PST)


KABUL: Taliban have claimed killing of six US soldiers in South Afghanistan.
Taliban Spokesman Mufti Latifullah Hakimi during his telephonic talk with Radio Tehran said that six US soldiers were killed when an American tank was blown up with remote control bomb in Charchino district of Uruzgan province.

He also claimed that Taliban fired eight rockets on the US forces base in Wasikha district in Paktika province.

However, there has been no independent confirmation of the Taliban's claim.

are we still there? /sarcasm

I know the name of almost every town and village in Iraq now, I wasn't even sure where Kunar was.

RIP soldiers.
