METROPOLITAN DIGEST
Documentary protest
Protesters gathered outside television station KSMO 62 on Wednesday to demonstrate against the station and parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group for planning to broadcast what critics call an anti-Kerry program before the election.
The protesters, primarily affiliated with the start-up KC Against Sinclair and Veterans for Truth, began gathering in the early afternoon.
The controversy grew from reports that Sinclair planned to have its 62 stations broadcast the documentary “Stolen Honor,” which is critical of statements John Kerry made to Congress about the Vietnam War in 1971. Sinclair has since announced that parts of the documentary will be shown as part of a news program called “A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media,” and will not be carried by all of its stations.
Kansas City protesters said the program was a brazen attempt to influence voters.
“There's no way this is newsworthy,” said Randy Barnes of the Veterans for Truth. “It's a piece of Republican propaganda.”
Michele Lahr of KC Against Sinclair called the broadcast an “abuse of the public trust.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Listening to the local radio news on www.kmbz.com at 7:30 a.m., EST., I heard an on-location feed with the sound of voices in the background of demonstrators outside the tv station THIS MORNING already! Is that great or WHAT? They are already on the job!
I didn't hear the whole news story as I raced to google to see if there was a news article I could post first, so I could slide this in, in LBN!
I SURELY hope this is typical of what's happening around the country.
WoooHOOOOOO! :bounce:
