Police: Democratic office break-in not political (Ohio)
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20041021/NEWS03/410210423/-1/NEWS

<snip>

Toledo police said yesterday they don't believe the break-in and theft of three computers from Lucas County Democratic headquarters last week were politically motivated.

"We are pretty certain it was not an 'inside job,' nor was it any outside agency trying to take the computers," said Sgt. Bob Baumgartner, a burglary detective.

He said investigators believe greed - taking the computers so they could be sold - was probably the motivation for the theft. Police have a suspect in the break-in, he said, but he declined to provide any further information and emphasized that no charges have been filed.

The case remains under investigation, and police are still trying to locate and recover the stolen computers, which contained sensitive information needed by local Democrats for federal, state, and national campaigns.

:grr:

1. So how many other computers have been stolen in the area?
Not politically motivated? Did the Easter Bunny tell them that?

2. We need to spread this around
Come on, the likelihood of this not being political is one in a million.

Don't just filter your voice through the LTEs though.

Go directly to the US public via mixed message boards and chat rooms.

I'm not advocating giving up lte's totally, but in these last few weeks please add some time if you want to win to your activity and fight the lies in mixed boards and chats of your choice, either political or on one of your interests. The Republicans are there. We should be too.

Lets not allow this to be covered up.

Didn't this very same thing happen a few weeks ago in Washington state??
Seattle I believe.
Same deal, three computers, sensitive information, local dick says not politically motivated.
Only difference is the break-in was on a repuke campaign office.

8. BS!!!...Cash was left in a lock box on the front desk...It was the GOP
This was passed along to me by the Democratic County Chair for an adjoining county.

It was a GOP raid and the Toledo cops are trying to put a smiley face on the whole thing.
