Rain, tears fall as family, friends remember Marine killed in Iraq

MIAMI ? While the sky raged and wept on their behalf, friends, family and teammates of Michael Felsberg took shelter in an athletic field house to mourn him.

Just outside were the athletic fields where Felsberg ran cross-country for four years as a student at Florida International University.

The Marine lieutenant was killed Oct. 13 in combat in Iraq. He was 27.

Felsberg graduated from FIU in 2003 with a 3.94 grade-point average, the highest for a senior athlete. As a Marine, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and other honors.
