TOKYO — More than three-quarters of non-U.S. citizens in an Internet mock vote for the U.S. presidential election voted for John Kerry, organizers said Thursday. "We believe the votes for Kerry show the world's criticism of President Bush's policies in the past four years," said Hideaki Uemura, head of the Global Democracy Campaign for an Alternative World.
Of the 5,767 people from 101 countries and regions who took part, 76.5% cast their Internet ballots for Kerry, while only 8.9% backed Bush. The mock vote, jointly organized by the Citizens Diplomatic Center for the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of Japan and the Citizens' Information and Media Center of South Korea, accepted votes from Aug 16 to Sunday.
