Pentagon Reportedly Skewed C.I.A.'s View of Qaeda Tie
Another lying Bush lackey exposed ...

By DOUGLAS JEHL

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 - As recently as January 2004, a top Defense Department official misrepresented to Congress the view of American intelligence agencies about the relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda, according to a new report by a Senate Democrat.

The report said a classified document prepared by Douglas J. Feith, the under secretary of defense for policy, not only asserted that there were ties between the Baghdad government and the terrorist network, but also did not reflect accurately the intelligence agencies' assessment - even while claiming that it did.

In issuing the report, the senator, Carl M. Levin, the senior Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, said he would ask the panel to take "appropriate action'' against Mr. Feith. Senator Levin said Mr. Feith had repeatedly described the ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda as far more significant and extensive than the intelligence agencies had.

The Intelligence Chain

Shortly after 9/11, the Pentagon established a secret intelligence unit to build the case against Iraq. The unit's members -- many of whom were recruited from neoconservative think tanks, primarily the American Enterprise Institute and the Project for the New American Century -- funneled faulty information up the chain of command, often all the way to the White House. By early 2002, the unit had been incorporated into the Defense Department's Office of Special Plans.

it's just a matter of time. You can't keep lying and expect it not to eventually catch up with you. There is no way he can deny he didn't know about this.

3. Of course he knew about this, he was the one who demanded that the
intelligence support his plan to attack Iraq. Luckily enough for him, he found enough traitorous bastards to pack his administration, and they did exactly what he wanted.

I am having to rethink my theory that bush* was led by the nose into this mess by Wolfie, Cheney, Perle, etc. For no other reason than the Sunday NYT story "No Doubt" and his remarks "there will be no casualites" to Pat Robertson. bush* wasn't led, he just surrounded himself with crazies, just like he is.
