It's official. Nader will not appear on the Ohio Ballot. Kerry wins Ohio.

2. It's really sad...
He spent his entire career as one of the good guys. I could even forgive him the 2000 campaign, if not for this.

4. There are some things one won't recover from.
Nader's betrayl of his principles is one of them.
I won't forgive hime for the 2000 campagn much less this one - and its the sad ending irony to an otherwise useful public life.

He became one of thoes who will win at all costs. To Ralph; , the ends don't justify the means. I thought you already knew this.

6. It's funny, though...
His entire career was spent on the periphery of real political power, running grassroots and commando-style operations. Then in his old age he gets these grandiose ideas about running for President. Was there just this switch that one day turned on in his brain that turned Nader into a megolamanic wannabe?

8. It seems like one can become intoxicated into believing
one is the actual character one pretends to be on the public stage.
The real danger lies in being deluded into thinking you really ARE this impressive public figure, ( and not the person behind the image ). If you fall prey to your one PR, who knows what path you will take. For a leader, In olden days it could lead to a scaffold or in front of a firing squad - due to a serries of compounded misguided choices.

Either he had no one to dope slap him and say NO , or he would not listen. I am sure he had plenty of warnings.

So he got ego poisened. Now its tooooooooo late to back down.
He'll be orbiting Neptune forever in damnation in his self imposed exile. And it did not have to end this way.

Hubris. Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad.

16. Sigh. You could stand to learn a few things about Nader.
Nader's career is filled with sterling achievement. From his massive influence upon federal regulatory reform to his organization and stewardship of state public interest groups and, of course, his endless use of the courts to halt government abuses, Nader has time and again led America out of its worst inclinations and toward a decent society.

That's a bitter pill to swallow when you're still blowing off steam four years later about losing to a guy like Bush, but that's the way it goes.

Nader's critique of the two-party duopoly is the benchmark for understanding our messed-up system. Don't fool yourself. A couple million former Nader voters are preparing to hold their nose and vote for Kerry, simply because they're afraid of the Bush gang. Not because they like Kerry; they can barely tolerate him. It's pure lesser-of-two-evilism.

21. Nader reminds me of Leon Trotsky.
once he stops serving his core beliefs and serves his misguided ambition, he is not any more than an annoyance.

Nader outlived his usefullness back in 2000. He bacame a Judas Goat, ( as Hunter Thompson put it ) when he began accepting help from the GOP to get on the ballots in various states.

I have lost all respect for someone I once admired.

Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 11:47 AM by Javaman
He argues up and down about the two party system but still excepts help from the repukes. Fuck him, once a champion of the little guy, now he's championed by the big guys.

19. Ralph nader
... America's fuck-tard...

Ok, maybe thats the baccardi speaking. Either way, F Nader. F Bush. Kerry 2004.

I saw the best sight yet of the election... Driving on my way to happy hour, about 100 or so kerry supporters at a busy intersection, just waving at the cars driving by. It was great. I honked in support and gave the thumbs up out the window. This is Maryland, a "lock" for the dems, but we still got rallys... GET OUT THE VOTE.
