Anti-Clinton Ads Dog Ex-Aide in Senate Race (NC)
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=6583832

<snip>

RALEIGH, N.C. (Reuters) - Turn on a television or radio in North Carolina and you might think that former President Bill Clinton is running for office.

Amid ads for pickup trucks and cosmetics are others attacking Clinton and Erskine Bowles, his former White House chief of staff, now the Democratic candidate running for a North Carolina seat in the U.S. Senate.

"Erskine Bowles is just wrong, and he is hiding the truth, just like Bill Clinton," declares one of the spots by Bowles' Republican rival, Rep. Richard Burr.

With large conservative sections of the state packed with Clinton foes, the ads seem to have helped tighten an already close race -- one of eight or so competitive contests that may determine control of the U.S. Senate where Republicans now hold 51 of 100 seats.

1. Gee, If Burr wins, I hope that anyone who makes fun of the South....
is NOT ridiculed because we would then be telling the truth!

Or would you suggest a particular point at which bigotry is/isn't justified?

3. --the republican Senatorial Commitee is running an ad for
Burr that is supposed to attack Kerry with little pics of him and Clinton under a big pic of Bowles with a voice over repeating "Bowles will vote for Kerry's tax increases"
over and over...

Only..

It comes off leaving the strong impression that Kerry is going to win the presidency and Bowles will pass his agenda.

too funny.

6. Not such a bad idea. Hillary ran by identifying Lazio with W
In NY, in 2000 it was already a good strategy that got her a landslide against all pundit predictions. (Lazio was a blank slate - the Pleasantville candidate)

8. I'm tired of them
I change the channel every time. there is a radio ad with breast cancer survivor challenging Burr's voting record. It was very effective. I was at the state fair today with a Kerry Edwards button - 4 people asked me where I got it. :)

Yes Clinton years were good for everyone. Pay down the debt, freeing up more capital for growth.

Tax and Spend is way better than Borrow and Spend

Greensboro Dem proud to have voted 2day for Kerry!
