http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/5922_1071063,0015002000000000.htmIRAN'S NUCLEAR programme is causing diplomatic fission between India and the United States. A senior US official was quoted by Reuters on Thursday as saying the Bush administration is considering imposing sanctions on one to three additional Indian "entities" for helping Iran's nuclear weapons programme.
Indian officials say they are not familiar with any new entities, either individuals or organisations. It is believed the three new entities being considered are likely to be individuals. US officials were cited as saying "no decisions" have been made about the new cases.
The US has already blacklisted two Indian scientists — Y.S.R. Prasad and C. Surendar — for supposedly assisting Iran's nuclear weapons programme. The US official also said, regarding the claims against Prasad and Surendar, that "the Indians are being given a chance now to clarify, rebut, give us any information and we promise we'll consider it."
