Lawyers Talking in Bill O'Reilly Case
NEW YORK - Lawyers are talking in the harassment case against Bill O'Reilly, raising the possibility of a settlement between the Fox News Channel host and the producer who says he engaged her in unwanted phone sex.

The talks are ongoing, said a source with knowledge of the case who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity.

There was no statement from Fox or lawyers for Andrea Mackris, the 33-year-old producer who said O'Reilly made a series of explicit phone calls to her, advised her to use a vibrator and told her about sexual fantasies involving her.

O'Reilly actually sued Mackris hours before her case was filed Oct. 13. The talk show host said he was fighting back against an extortion attempt, that Mackris and her lawyer demanded $60 million in "hush money" to make the case quietly go away.

Thought he said he'd fight her all the way.

5. On which page does O'Reilly talk about that?
I read the threat allegation and the shower allegation. But I missed the dildo and falafel allegations.

Rhetorical paragraph #81.

"During the course of O'Reilly's sexual rant it was clear that he was using a vibrator upon himself and ejaculated. Plaintiff was repulsed. (no shit!).

8. Bill O'Reilly Case
I was watching Court TV, and I heard Fox News are going to try to take a deposition from Al Franken. They claim he put Andrea Mackris up to this for political reasons. She asked Al to have dinner with her because O'reilly claimed the government was going to make him disappear, and she thought he should know about it.

14. This sounds like a pre-emptive strike against Franken
Franken has been very circumspect in talking about this case, to an extreme. He had Colmes on his show recently, and Colmes had the nerve to joke that Al seemed intimidating at the correspondent's dinner. I had the impression that Al was really doing his best to restrain himself given the fact that O'Reilly had just been revealed as having made thuggish threats to Franken. Think about it: Colmes had the nerve to say that Al seemed dangerous when it had jsut been reported that O'Reilly bragged that Ailes would see to it that Franken would answer his door one day and find his life "changed forever."

I wonder if Franken doesn't have some kind of case against Fox.

O'Reilly behaved like a sexual predator and thug, but now Fox is trying to suggest that his problems are somehow Franken's fault?

12. I predict that O'Lielly will enter into a settlement,
with the usual caveats requiring both parties to never speak about the tapes nor the amount paid or the settlement is invalidated. Faced with ridicule, he will start to blather and bluster breaking his silence...because he's Bill...Bill Blowhard...can't be anything else. Then he'll be in another mess.

It would be nice if he crawled under a rock, but that never seems to happen when scandal strikes right wingnuts, does it?

18. His lawyer's advise I'm sure
Is to make this go away fast, as she most likely has a very good case and the scheister knows it. Bill does too, but he wouldn't admit it even if you put him on the rack.
