Political star power intensifies in South Florida

President Bush made four stops in Florida's Republican counties, while Democrats targeted niche communities in Broward and Miami-Dade.

In the dwindling days of the tight presidential race where Florida could be key to victory, President Bush zeroed in on Republican bastions across the state, and Democrats targeted their strongholds in South Florida with some of the party's brightest stars.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sen. John Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, campaigned in Broward and Miami-Dade on Saturday, promising the black community that every vote will count and urging women to get to the polls.

President Bush rallied his faithful supporters in Central Florida, landing Marine One in sports stadiums in three staunchly Republican cities and emerging from the helicopter to the soundtrack from the movie Top Gun.

KERRY'S SPEECH

John Kerry will visit South Florida today, for a major speech about faith at Mount Hermon AME church in Fort Lauderdale and a public rally in Boca Raton, among other appearances.

Former President Bill Clinton, still recovering from heart surgery, will appear on Kerry's behalf this week in Boca Raton and Miami
