Many Iraq schools lack water supplies, sanitation facilities and much more
The first comprehensive study on the condition of schools in post-conflict Iraq has confirmed that thousands of school facilities lack the basics necessary to provide children with a decent education.

The school survey, released this week by the Iraq Ministry of Education, shows that one-third of all primary schools in Iraq lack any water supply and almost half are without any sanitation facilities.

The worst affected governorates are Thiqar, Salaheldin and Diala, where more than 70 per cent of primary school buildings either lack water service altogether or the existing water system is not working.

3. Isn't this vile? To be sure, Bush has bragged about his accomplishments
almost from the first. Other Republicans love to boast that they've built schools, roads, gotten the water back on, etc., etc., never stopping to admit that we destroyed them all, as well as the people inside quite a while ago, and the survivors would probably rather have their loved ones back than spiffy new buildings, which they don't have, either.

Let's take a time to marvel that they are STILL yapping about some 19 year old woman who voted for the first time in Afghanistan. I'll bet she'd love to vote they'd leave her country and people alone.

4. Shrub brags that the schools are open in Iraq.
He fails to mention that by 'open' he means a couple of walls and half the roofs have been blown off, but to the birds nesting in them they're open enough.
