Cheney continues talk of Kerry doomsday
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - Call it Dick Cheney's doomsday campaign.

In the frantic final days of the campaign of his life, with political attacks on all sides more and more strident, the vice president is pounding harder than ever at Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry on national security.

Cheney was criticized in September for saying, "If we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again, that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."

Although Cheney no longer makes that explicit connection, he routinely, if implicitly, raises apocalyptic scenarios in contemplating a Kerry presidency, doing so always in that subdued boardroom manner of his that often serves to mask the harshness of his message.

"It's very important that we choose someone who understands the nature of the enemy we face, who understands the depth of the commitment needed in order to defeat it, who understands that we're far better off taking them on over there than we are fighting them on the streets of our own cities," Cheney told a group of supporters last week in Michigan.

2. Yeah, Cheney and *Bush did a great job protecting us prior to 9/11.
Now they are on the top of their game - misallocating all our resources for *Bush's vendetta war in Iraq.

3. But if we elect Bush...
...he'll call off the attack.

If we elect Kerry he'll see to it that we get a nasty surprise before they leave office.

Bastards.

9. October 1 marks beginning of fiscal year for fed govt.
I'm worried they might empty coffers before Kerry Inauguration. Big bonuses to politicos burrowed into career positions, posing as "civil servants"--who will later give bad advice to Kerry appointees. I've seen it before in "Bush I--the Prequel".

14. What I mean to say is that an agency's budget
for this newly-started FY will be drained as much as possible between 11/3 and 1/20. Rethugs will give away or commit, e.g. EPA's budget. Kerry's EPA will have less money FY 10/04-10/05, thereby weakening Kerry's environmental hand for the first year of his term. Could mean, e.g., weaker EPA enforcement due to lack of agency funds.

Same with other federal agencies.

6. Well, then, the choice is clear!
"It's very important that we choose someone who understands the nature of the enemy we face, who understands the depth of the commitment needed in order to defeat it, who understands that we're far better off taking them on over there than we are fighting them on the streets of our own cities..."

THAT MAN IS PRESIDENT JOHN KERRY!!!!!

Thanks, DICK, for making that perfectly clear!

7. Cheney is evil incarnate.
In another time and place, he would have been one of Hitler's willing henchmen.

8. He's a pathetic caricature
of the crabby old man on the corner who would yell at the neighborhood kids for walking on his lawn. He is no longer frightening, but has become completely ridiculous and embarrassing.

18. I see it as a threat. They are desperate and I put nothing past
them. Their ugly plans for world domination are crumbling and I have no doubt that they will lash out at the country, or even the world, in sick, destructive way.
