Clinton vs. Al Qaqaa
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 05:36 AM by dallan
kerry is surging a bit in the battleground states and CNN even mocks bush at the end of the article.

"A number of independent polls released over the weekend offered further proof of a trend toward Kerry in key battleground states. To wit, polls show Kerry gaining ground in Ohio (Kerry +4), Florida (Kerry +1), New Hampshire (Kerry +9), Maine (Kerry +11), Michigan (Kerry +6) and New Jersey (Kerry +7). One poll even showed a dead heat in Arkansas (paging Bill Clinton!). Another showed Bush's lead in Nevada cut to just 2 points.
All is not lost for Bush-Cheney, of course. They're still up 13 points in South Carolina, up 21 points in Montana and 17 points in Kentucky."

2. I can't understand the polls anymore
they even have hawaii as bush with 46-45 in the latest poll there, but all "experts" say hawaii is easily kerry's...

I just believe this - I think 1-5% of the electorate in these polls they take are never called because we only use cell phones or have no phones at all, and are never called. my friend got a call on his mom's house phone, and my mom did on her's too, but neither him or I have been called on our cell phones of course, and I don't have a home phone.

6. Tune in, turn on, drop out
The pollsters call people at dinner time, when they are making dinner, tending the kids, etc. Only the rich elite with cash to afford a nanny or such have time to answer the phone. Most people are so disgusted with the pollsters that they simply hang up. I know I'm guilty of that one.

On another subject, I live in Montana, and our disparity between George Bush and John Kerry in the primary was about 105,000 to 68,000. If you do those figures, the difference is about 22%. But that is 173,000 out of over 600,000 (roughly) eligible voters. Most people don't vote in the primary, and this state has become much more Democratic since Election 2000.

I go to school in Bozeman, MT. When I started, only the die-hard supporters for either party posted signs, mostly Republican. Now you can drive down any street in residential areas and see it lined up with Kerry/Edwards, Schweitzer/Bohlinger, etc. Most areas are 5-to-1 for Democrats, some more. Even the five to 20 acre ranchettes south of town aren't in favor of Bush. Almost all of the remaining Republicans have Brown/Lewis signs, but no Bush/Cheney signs in the mix.

7. I Don't Know Whether to Laugh or SCREAM!
'They're still up...17 points in Kentucky.'

I'm embarrassed by living in such a state sometimes.
