WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic nominee John Kerry (news - web sites) maintains a one-point lead over President Bush (news - web sites), according to the latest ABC tracking poll released on Monday.

The telephone survey of likely voters from Oct. 22 to Oct. 25 showed 49 percent would vote for Kerry and 48 percent for Bush. Similar polls released by ABC during the previous three days resulted in the same outcome.


The ABC poll of 2,414 adults included 1,666 likely voters. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

2. Yesterday, ABC said that while they and the Washington Post

use the same polling data they each evaluate it their own way so the numbers are not always exactly the same.

9. Nothing new, Kerry surging

Comparing to 2000, when Bush was a "fresh face" Gore was gaining and at this point only shortly before election day(that weekend I think). You don't need to feel any more pulses and it wouldn't do any good.
