Bush Ad Salutes Sacrifice of Soldiers _ "Whatever It Takes"
Details of a television ad from President Bush (news - web sites) to begin airing this week:

TITLE: "Whatever It Takes."

LENGTH: 60 seconds.

PRODUCER: Maverick Media.

AIRING: Current plans are for national cable networks.

SCRIPT:

Bush: "These four years have brought moments I could not foresee and will not forget. I've learned first hand that ordering Americans into battle is the hardest decision, even when it is right. I have returned the salute of wounded soldiers who say they were just doing their job. I have held the children of the fallen who are told their dad or mom is a hero but would rather just have their mom or dad. I've met with the parents and wives and husbands who have received a folded flag. And in those military families, I have seen the character of a great nation. Because of your service and sacrifice, we are defeating the terrorists where they live and plan and you're making America safer. I will never relent in defending America, whatever it takes. I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message."

It takes dividing America (the United States) Divided we fall United we stand. When you divide a Nation you weaken it. I guess that is "Whatever it Takes" to win your election.

10. I'm a Christian and I don't support abortion, and especially the backalley
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 12:48 PM by w4rma
coathanger type and the abortion is for those wealthy enough to afford it on the blackmarket type. I also don't support government messing around with religion or religion messing around with government, any religion, even my own.

I support choice. I support the freedom of folks to make their own decisions. I support the freedom of folks to make their own religious decisions without having the government tell us all what we must do.

29. If you do not support abortion, then don't have one
leave the rest of us to decide what we, rightfully, want to do with our own families and our own body. NO ONE owns anyone else's body especially the state, and that goes for the religious nutcakes who think they are entitled, by the precepts of their whacko, misogynist religion to own another's body. You don't and never will. So be whatever you want, Christian or not, but don't attempt to take over any one else's body or life and have it be written into the law of the land according to your religious beliefs.

22. He makes it sound as if it is he who is making the sacrifice
The ad's most frequently used word: "I"

Somehow, it's all about him.

Did Lincoln or FDR ever use the sacrifice of others to elevate themselves?

Whatever it takes? What is he offering up in sacrifice?

You know, the text of this ad sould appear in the DSM-IV next to its definition of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

"Whatever it takes? What is he offering up in sacrifice?"

Apparently, Bush is working very hard at sending other people's children to their early graves.

Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 05:50 PM by cliss
the "I's" in the ad. I counted 9 instances of the word "I". Now, that's not a long ad. Probably 15 or 30 seconds.

It really IS ALL ABOUT HIM, isn't it. As if he's doing the sacrificing. He's gained plenty from all of this, believe me.

Welcome to the DU, by the way!!! :smoke:

25. 211, 212, whatever it takes....
It's doubtful that he remembers breakfast, and he is incapable of learning ('cause he's STEADFAST) He's returned the salute of a soldier with a broken collarbone and held the salute, forcing the soldier (probably in pain) to hold longer.

When does he become eligilble for war crimes trials? As soon as he is defeated or do we have to wait until the end of January? How long before the pig farm is bought for a highly infalted price by Poppie's buds or some trust fund? I can't wait for Tuesday!!!

30. "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"
I reworked the "Wolves" Bush Commercial because I couldn't stand that commercial - so I created a Quicktime version that is more suitable - called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" --

it helps to bring up the fact that Bush sat on his ASS during 911 while the REAL WOLVES brought the world down.

Pass it around if you will, and if anyone can direct me to or get me THIS NEW COMMERCIAL I will do the same thing to this one.. :)
