President George W. Bush is planning a campaign stop in Gainesville on Sunday, two days before the election, sources close to the campaign said Wednesday morning.

3. For Bush to come to Florida again
he must be in trouble here. There are some polls showing Kerry ahead by 4 or more. I have to be in Gainesville Sunday for a kiddie party so I am not looking forward to the traffic jams this will cause. Elizabeth Edwards will be in Gainesville Sat. This is college town in FL that I think could go either way.

5. Go either way?
Friend, I am a proud graduate of UF (Go Gators!),and there is absolutely NO WAY Gainesville goes for Bunnytpants. Alachua County is one of the most liberal counties in Florida. There are almost 55,000 undergrads alone at UF. The Dems almost ran the Swift Boat Liars out of town on a rail when they had their "meeting" in downtown Gainesville. I get your point, though. They must be very desperate, as this is a waste of Chicken George's time.

13. another former gainesvillian, here
and gainesville is an absolute oasis of intelligence in north central florida. and it probably IS the most liberal city in florida.

but go outside of gainesville 10 or 20 miles or more and you have stepped backwards in any understanding or tolerance of diversity.

i hope the people of gainesville, and those of like minds, CAN pull florida through this.

15. I completely agree with you
and found the same thing when I was there. Hicksville outside of town and most of the rest of Florida. Hopefully Gatorville can help off set the freepers. Go Gators!

4. It's gonna kill him. He already looks like a crazy man
and Laura looks more and more draped and frumpy, helmet haired , round shouldered and depressed. He is really looking crazy. He is over the edge and falling off the cliff.

6. UGH!! just GO AWAY! this is a nice town and we DON'T WANT YOU
hey, dumbass, guess what? Alachua County is an oasis of libruls in the middle of a putrid sea of pukes so you don't have a chance here, don't waste your time. not to mention that I and many others have already voted anyway--NOT FOR YOU.

8. Bush is an idiot to come to Gainesville
There will definitely be 5 times more protesters than supporters. I can't wait.

So far, I'm batting a 1000. I gave Cheney the bird to his face. I got to shake hands with Edwards. Tomorrow Elizabeth Edwards is coming. And then I'll try for another birdie on Sunday. Bring 'em on, asshole.

11. Gainesville area not for Bush.
I believe I read in the Alligator newspaper that the largest bloc of registered voters in Alachua county are students. And most students here at UF are Dems. Heck, I think Alachua county was the only "Blue" county in the North Central Florida area.

12. Bring him on...
He'd get a friendlier welcome in Tehran than he'll get here in Gainesville. The Florida GOP is going to have to import rednecks from Starke, Williston, Ocala, and Waldo in order to get enough "friendlies" to block out the protesters.

Let him waste his precious time here; he won't be picking up any votes. If anyone is interested, I'll take notes and post photos.
