Polls Force Campaigns to Change Strategy
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/politics/10029692.htm?1c

The road to the White House is taking some strange and sharp turns as tightening polls and pressure from party stalwarts force the presidential campaigns to adjust their strategies.

In a flurry of homestretch activity, former President Clinton was giving satellite interviews to television stations in reliably Democratic Hawaii to shore up Sen. John Kerry's campaign Wednesday, and President Bush poured last-minute money into the Northeast to keep Democrats at bay in New Hampshire.

That's not all. Bowing to pressure from Clinton and two prominent senators, Democrats shifted resources to Arkansas and West Virginia despite doubts on Kerry's team about his ability to win there.

Democrats were also adding money to Michigan, reflecting concerns that Kerry has failed to nail down the must-win state.

And what's with the polls showing Arizona and New Jersey so close?

2. think we can't win AZ? look at these numbers and what Zogby says
STATE TOTALS as of 10/25/2004
Ind 655,554

Dems 914,264

Libertarian 18,261

Repubs 1,055,252

total 2,643,331

http://www.azsos.gov/election/Active_Voter_Count.pdf

According to Zogby's poll on Oct. 21:

Mr. Bush holds a small lead among men, while Mr. Kerry holds an unusually small edge among women. A bright spot for Mr. Kerry here – he leads among independents by a 62% to 31% margin.

so let's do the math shall we?

Bush gets Repubs + Libertarians + 1/3 of Indies = 1,292,031 48.87%

Kerry gets Dems + 2/3 of Indies = 1,351,300 51.12%

we win by a comfortable 2.25% margin

feel better? so lets get those voters to the polls!

AZ may be the surprise of the night. Chimpy is polling 47% here. Indys break for Kerry, Dems are motivated, end of story. Not that it won't be close, but it's doable!

7. Make that three agrees
Do you personally know ANYONE who voted for Gore last time that is voting for *?!?! But ALL of us know plenty who voted for * who will be voting for KERRY!

Add that to the fact that we have tons of voters who have never voted, that are ravenous to get their vote counted this time around.

We have a lot of hope here. Don't give up on Arizona
