Armed Group Claims to Have Iraq Explosives
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 03:41 AM by TheWebHead
The Associated Press:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - An armed group claimed in a video Thursday to have obtained a large amount of explosives missing from a munitions depot facility in Iraq (news - web sites) and threatened to use them against foreign troops.

A group calling itself Al-Islam's Army Brigades, Al-Karar Brigade, said it had coordinated with officers and soldiers of "the American intelligence" to obtain a "huge amount of the explosives that were in the al-Qaqaa facility."

The claim couldn't be independently verified. The speaker was surrounded by masked, armed men standing in front of a black banner with the group's name on it in the tape obtained by Associated Press Television News.

"We promise God and the Iraqi people that we will use it against the occupation forces and those who cooperate with them in the event of these forces threatening any Iraqi city," the man added.

NO WAY! The Greedy Bastard (Cheney) would allow all that highly marketable and expensive material to just disappear.

Rememeber, Iran/Contra & Haliburton doing business with states who sponsor terrorists.

Cheney and the rest of the Neo-Cons have no scruples when it comes to selling or trading arms to terrorists.

24. This might suggest something unthinkable
That a plan for a protracted and ever-expanding war (on "terror") can be provoked by invasion, and sustained by arming the enemy.

Great way to guarentee your never-ending war profits and establishing a mentality of seige among the American populous.

They want a tactical nuclear war in the Middle East and they need an 'event' to justify it.

Isn't it funny that this type of research was kerry's forte'in the 80's. I wonder if his camp knows something that we don't know yet?

I swear to God I almost posted earlier "could the US have sold the explosives to fund something covert"...but I didn't because I thought I would sound like an idiot!

52. I read your post and knew it was a reply to #6. I just didn't understand.
That's why I asked whom you were referring to. You said, "What a bunch of traitorous cowards! The care NOTHING for our troops, just about photo-ops." Perhaps in the first sentence you were speaking about the "officers and soldiers of 'the American intelligence'" that this group referred to? And in the second sentence you were talking about the Bush administration? That's what confused me. I wasn't sure if by "photo-op" you meant this announcement by the terrorist group. I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything, I just wanted you to clarify.

8. I Posted This Yesterday And Looks Like I Was Right
David Bloom Was The Embedded Journalist W/3rd He Died April 6

Of a pulmonary embolism. This connection is bugging me......A LOT! What did he see? Were the troops ordered to "take" the explosives? It would explain why they were "missing" just days later.

I think the military knows exactly where those explosives went. I'll stop there.....just follow the money...and put your cynic/tinfoil hat on.

29. Glad to see I am not the only one that thought of this!
David Bloom was also the one to ask Bush if he ever did cocaine --
I mean he pinned him down about it.

The bit about the cocaine question is referenced in "Fortunate Son" by the now deceased Jim Hatfield.

34. The 3rd Division Was At Al Qaqaa April 5th
There were reports now coming to light again on CNN International that the 3rd did see these explosives. Bloom died the next day. What did he see? And why is the information about the 3rd obfuscated by the telling and retelling that troops who got there on April 10th found nothing.

The 3rd was there and I submit the weapons were taken by the troops and somehow it now sounds like they are in the hands of terrorists.

Read my original post written yesterday in a different thread and IMHO I was right. Follow the money....who stood to gain....it does not look good for Chimpy...it looks like treason to me...

41. No, he was the author of the first bush expose before 2000 election
Long story but...The book was originally burned and Hatfield alleged that Bush was busted for cocaine use in the early 70's (he was the first source of the AWOL stuff)

In any case Hatfield committed suicide (I think shortly after bush took office/not sure)

43. I wouldn't rule out that these guys are bluffing.
After all, it's easy to say you have something AFTER it turns up missing. Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that the explosives are gone and most assuredly in the wrong hands (whether these guys' or someone else's) and that they went missing AFTER we invaded and had a chance to secure them.

Come on, people. Do you really rely on armed, masked thugs for the truth? These guys are making a ham-fisted attempt at notoriety. There is no confirmation that they have the explosives how they got them or--and this is the big lie--that American intelligence assisted them.

56. You know that would make sense
Blame mostly only gets placed when the story pauses, if they could get a few clowns to go out make this kind of claim the story continues and people get off the hook.

It took a few days to manifest this story after the first one broke. So it's plausible but would be even worse it that's what they did and people somehow found out. A small chance, but after all we do remember 9/11 don't we......... I am put nothing past these folks
