Car Bomb Hits U.S. Patrol in Iraq; 2 Dead

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A car bomb exploded Thursday in southern Baghdad, killing a U.S. soldier and at least one Iraqi civilian, the U.S. military said.


The attack against a 1st Cavalry Division patrol happened about 7:30 a.m. local time in the Rashid district of the capital, the military said.


The name of the soldier killed was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.


Two other soldiers suffering minor injuries.

1. God Damn It, what the fuck are we doing over there?
I get so damn mad everyday when I hear that someone else has lost a mother/father/daughter/son/sister/brother/friend/neighbor/cousin it just makes me want to scream. And for what?? What???

I was looking for photos of Fallujah victims at yahoo and there is this photo of the world's worst war crimminal in there! I feel your pain LosinIt, this senseless killing is driving me mad. :(

3. Why can't they identify the service!?
I hate when they say "soldiers." That could mean either Army soldiers or Marine soldiers. Or for that matter, it could mean Airmen, Sailors, etc. (And yes, they too have died albeit in smaller numbers.) Anyway, I just wish they would distinguish between Marines and Army people.
