Election Workers Kidnapped in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Three foreign election workers were kidnapped Thursday in the Afghan capital, police and Western officials said.

The three were taken, along with their vehicle, near an office of the joint U.N.-Afghan electoral body set up to oversee the recent presidential election, Abdul Khaleeq Samimi, a senior police official, told The Associated Press.
