Father says kidnappers threatening to kill child hostage in Iraq
HASHEMEYAT, Iraq The father of a seven-year-old boy held hostage in Iraq says his kidnappers are threatening to behead the child unless they get 70-thousand dollars.

The father tells The Associated Press the kidnappers also asked him to sell his belongings and leave Iraq.

He says they've backed off their initial demand of 150-thousand dollars.

Gunmen kidnapped the Lebanese boy earlier this month as he was on his way home from school in an area east of Baghdad.

4. This is normal for Iraq, now. I've read lots and lots of similar stories
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 11:58 AM by w4rma
about kidnappers holding relatives for ransom in Iraq. I will bet that this particular boy's parents are one of the more wealthy families that have had their relative kidnapped and thats why we are hearing about this.

5. Unfortunately, "normal"
But, it will never be "normal" in my book. These crimes are another sidebar to the havoc and grief brought on Iraq by BushCo.

Chimp! Your daughters ought to be the first sent over to Iraq when Kerry takes the WH!

I have a seven year old and a five year old, I just cannot imagine the fear they would go through.
