KSTP: XCLUSIVE: MORE BREAKING NEWS ABOUT EXPLOSIVES FOUND IN IRAQ (SEALS)
http://kstp.com/article/stories/S3741.html?cat=1

A 5 Eyewitness News crew in Iraq may have been just a door away from materials that could be used to detonate nuclear weapons. The evidence is in videotape shot by Reporter Dean Staley and Photographer Joe Caffrey at or near the Al Qaqaa munitions facility.

The video shows a cable locking a door shut. That cable is connected by a copper colored seal.

A spokesperson for the International Atomic Energy Agency told 5 Eyewitness News that seal appears to be one used by their inspectors. "In Iraq they were used when there was a concern that this could have a, what we call, dual use purpose, that there could be a nuclear weapons application."

Seals used by the IAEA (top). A seal on an Iraqi bunker door videotaped by a 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew on April 18, 2003 (bottom).

OK but which they had said more about this "seal" image that they posted to their web site.

7. It should be easy to determine whether the pictures were taken at al QaQaa
A spokesperson for the International Atomic Energy Agency told 5 Eyewitness News that seal appears to be one used by their inspectors.

The IEAE should have a chain of custody for that numbered seal, showing where the seal was used, as well as when it was used and what was sealed.

If this story is not substantiated and proven, we have just given the right-wing pundits more fodder in 24 hours than they've had in 4 years. I hope to hell that this is not taken down like the Dan Rather story this year. We could win or LOSE our support base on the validity of this investigation.

They verified their location via GPS and said they were in the right location for al Qaqaa and Bob Baer (from the CIA, appeared in Hijacking Catastrophy) said that this facility was A PRIMARY CONCERN. The report is available at kstp.com.

They said the website is getting 10 times the normal amount of traffic--like 200,000 hits in one hour!

27. Maybe, just maybe, the Russia story was played up as
speculation, subject to verification, but was never presented as having any real hard evidence. Easy to throw out there, no hard claims made, easily discounted.

Now, this KSTP report contains hard evidence that has to be analyzed -- is there an IAEA record of this particular seal and what it was assigned to, etc. That's a little less easy to toss around as "speculative." And I think maybe there are people who realize just how explosive (pun intended) this evidence could be and they want to make sure it doesn't prove to be a dud (again, pun intended) the way the Rather/Killian papers were.

34. I sent the video to lots of news people, then found this:
Administration Misleads on Missing Explosives

The Bush administration is pushing the theory that the 380 tons of explosives were missing from the Al Qaqaa storage facility before the March 2003 invasion of Iraq. Administration spokesman Dan Senor said on CNN that "there's a very high probability that those weapons weren't even there before the war."1

For days, this theory has been in direct conflict with a Pentagon official, who told the Associate Press on Monday, "US-led coalition troops had searched Al Qaqaa in the immediate aftermath of the March 2003 invasion and confirmed that the explosives, which had been under IAEA seal since 1991, were intact."2

Now, video shot in Iraq by a Minneapolis news team provides further proof that the administration's theory is bogus. After the invasion - on April 18, 2003 - the Minneapolis ABC news crew was stationed just south of the Al Qaqaa facility.3 That day, they drove 2 to 3 miles north with the 101st Airborne Division. There, "members of the 101st Airborne Division showed the 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS news crew bunker after bunker of material labeled 'explosives.'"4 Some of the boxes were marked "Al Qaqaa."5 One soldier told the crew: "we can stick in those and make some good bombs."6 Watch the video.

37. What about the roadside bombs? I bet ya a million dollars....
that some of these roadside bombs are made with that very
same explosive that was looted. They can do chemical testing
on the bomb aftermath to see what kind of explosive it was.
If they were to release that info (I'm sure it's out there),
we'd almost surely find that some of it is the same kind of
material that was in that compound.

If the troops, equipment, and priorities were there, that material
wouldn't have been looted and the post war effort would have been
a lot better.

Heads in this administration should have rolled a long time ago,
but all we heard was how Rumsfeld was doing such a "superb" job.

39. Reporter Dean Staley said on Paula Zahn that his group removed seals to
get into the building ! Originally they thought the seals, strips of wire (attached to a copper metal head) were booby traps ! Imagine that, the troops had no idea that these were the seals in question. When they cut the bolts, they also cut the wire and got in to a warehouse full of barrels labeled Explosive 1.1 D. (Hmmmm, wonder what that could be?)

EXCLUSIVE: 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS RAISES NEW QUESTIONS ABOUT UNGUARDED EXPLOSIVES

Updated: 10/28/2004 07:50:58 PM

http://kstp.com/article/stories/S3740.html?cat=64

Photojournalist Joe Caffrey recalls seeing Iraqis watching them as they went through the bunkers. As his crew and the troops from the 101st departed each bunker, they left them open.

"We weren't quite sure what we were looking at, but we saw so much of it and it didn't appear that this was being secured in any way," said photojournalist Joe Caffrey. "It was several miles away from where military people were staying in their tents."

Caffrey also recalls overhearing a military briefing after curious soliders had encountered another bunker.

"Apparently two soldiers had gone in to these bunkers, lit a match for light and the fumes or powder... whatever it was, exploded and burned their clothes off," he said. "Shortly thereafter, everyone was told to stay away from these bunkers"

Another bunker encountered by the 101st Airborne and the 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew was locked with chains and a seal left by inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency. According to the IAEA, the seal marked a facility suspected of holding "dual-purpose" materials that could be used to produce nuclear weapons.

Regarding your article at....

Why is the TITLE of the Article

"Photo, video show Iraqi complex before, after invasion"

The 'prior' is irrelevent to the main story which is that David Kay verifies that those seals are the ones so the material MUST BE the high explosives..

Furthermore... AMPLE eye witness testimony proves all the bunkers were SIMILARLY intact! I'm talking about the soldiers that were there!!

58. Help
NPR's Morning Edition repeated this morning the assertion made in its Wednesday story that the 380 tons of explosives missing in Iraq was just a fraction of the explosives seized and or destroyed during the occupation. I do not believe this to be true. I think I saw a story that stated the tons destroyed to be between 300 and 400 hundred tons and the amount seized but not yet destroyed to be between 100 and 200 tons. I do not remember where I saw this. I believe it was from a reputable news source within the last week. I could not find the story with a quick google search. If anyone has this story please send it to Morning Edition and NPR.

60. CNN Continues TO RUN stupid CONFUSING ARTICLES!!!
TO Cnn:
You wrote......
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/28/iraq.explosives/index.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Two more bits of possible evidence have surfaced in the mystery of the missing Iraqi explosives.

The Pentagon released a photo Thursday showing activity before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003 outside a bunker at the weapons dump where 360 tons of explosives reportedly disappeared.

The photo might lend support to but doesn't prove the Pentagon's theory the explosives were moved before the war, and a videotape surfaced offering another scenario.
(snip)

Why is this INCONCLUSIVE AND USELESS "evidence" the lead in on a story that is mainly about the videotape that PROVES PER DAVID KAY the presence of HMX on April 13!

STOP WRITING CONFUSING ARTICLES ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW TO BE TRUE>>>

APRIL 13!! Videotape of one bunker and conclusive proof...Also TESTIMONY THAT PROVES THE LIKELY TIMELINE OF EVENTS>>>>

LAY IT OUT PLAINLY! STOP RUNNING BALONEY!
