Albright slams Bush over Iraq
A FEISTY former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has denounced George W. Bush, saying the President's divisive and destructive policies had wreaked havoc on the world and diminished the US.
Mr Albright has been campaigning for presidential candidate John Kerry with a group that includes former top generals, a US Marine who served recently in Iraq, and Representative Jane Harman, the highest-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.Ms Albright described the war in Iraq as a "chaotic disaster.

Now, Ms Harman said, Iraqi insurgents were using those explosives to kill American soldiers."This is total incompetence by our secretary of (defence) and our commander in chief," she said, and called Mr Rumsfeld the worst defence secretary in the history of America.

Merrill "Tony" McPeak, a four-star general who headed the US Air Force during Desert Storm, accompanied the pro-Kerry group billed as the "national security tour" that was also to stop in Reno, Nevada.Iraq had been "an act of supreme incompetence," he said.General McPeak endorsed Mr Bush in 2000, but now calls himself a "recovering Republican".

Ms Albright said the country needs a president who would tell the truth, and the world's superpower needed an image makeover."We don't have to be loved everywhere but we need to be respected," she said. "We don't need to be feared by our friends, we need to be feared by our enemies."Ms Albright had some parting advice for voters."George Bush says it's hard work, let's give him a rest."

8. I despise her. She's as guilty as Bush of killing Iraqi children...
...through her blithe dismissal of the consequence of sanctions.

But that's past history. You realize her foundation is now in deals in Iraq with Halliburton, don't you?

2. Natl Security Tour is great idea - why so little press coverage?
This is the first I heard about this... it goes to the heart of the key issue Bush is pushing -- I'm just still incredulous at the press' failure in this entire election cycle.

6. She probably just has her knickers in a twist

because she got caught out along with the Carlyle Group, by Naomi Klein, trying to run a scam on Kuwait for Iraq reparatons:

link to The Nation

from the link:

This is where the Carlyle/Albright consortium comes in. The premise of its proposal is that Iraq's unpaid debts to Kuwait are not just a financial problem but a political and public relations problem as well. Global public opinion is no longer what it was when Kuwait was promised full reparations. Now the world is focused on reconstructing Iraq and forgiving its debts. If Kuwait is going to get its reparations awards, the cover letter argues, it will need to recast them not as a burden on Iraq but "as a key element in working toward regional stability and reconciliation."

It's a really long read, and was posted in Editorials a couple weeks back.

11. I don't trust that bitch
She is as guilty as they come. She is an accomplice in murder and theft. What makes her a part of democratic party is yet unknown to me.
