(FL) GOP May Wield Felon List

The Florida Republican party has a list of past felons that they may us challenge voters. The GOP list is based on the previously discredited list the state of Florida dropped. Governor Bush says he thinks its OK.

2. This really bites!

I was on this list in 2000! I was never a felon. I don't know If my vote ever got counted in 2000 or not. It took my awhile to get this mess fixed!

3. We have one race on our local ballot that is an unopposed candidate...

My partner and I wrote in my name as a 'write in'. I am going to check the complete results after the election, and I had better see my name listed 2x in the final tabulation or I am going to be looking for some answers.

10. Doesn't work that way.

Write in Canidates are actual "approved" canidates who didn't make the ballot. Write anything else there besides such a canidates name, and it counts as a "non vote.

Write in a non Write in's name, plus pick a canidate on the list to check mark.. the "non vote is ignored as if it didn't happen. Only the checked canidate is counted. THAT is Florida Law. The sup of elections are suppose to give it their best shot at figuring out WHO the voter is trying to vote for.

However.. Some Sof Elections offices where tossing out votes that had a non approved write in, written in... Totaly ignoring that a actual canidate was also marked.

Which means.. some voters who Voted for Bush in 2000 and also wrote in Bush's name in the write in spot, just to make sure everyone KNEW who they were voting for.. that ballot got tossed. Same for Gore. Guess who lost the most votes this way....

Neither Bush or Gore were "approved" as write in votes. Plus, it looked like the voter was voting for 2 different canidates. The elections office made no attempt with these votes. Totaly ignoring the LAW of FLORIDA which when written, was written to protect the VOTER.

to expose it and get some media attention on how inaccurate it is. Post that you were on the list in 2000 in the Report Voting Problems forum. And a link back to this article. Since you fixed it once, you might be a great witness for a court case later.

4. This could backfire on them big time

If they use a list which has been discredited, legally registered voters who are challenged can sue them for fraud.


This is why Bush doesn't want citizens to be able to sue for voter harrassment. He only wants Ashcroft to be able to sue.

For that to happen, there would have to be a non-partisan media, not the right wing ass kissing media we have now.

6. Most critical part

When they challenge someone, a vote is needed by the polling workers. During this discussion and vote, no one is allowed to vote.

They're obviously going to be doing this in every black precinct that has like 10,000 voters and a super long line already.

Main plan: Get people sick of standing in line for several hours, or have the polls close before they get to vote.

I predict riots if that happens.
