who gave aid to the enemy.

But a damn good reader of children's books.

6. Yeah, the fact that OBL is still at large really helps the idiot -
that should have had him killed within 6 months. This is an even bigger failure than 9/11 because there is no valid excuse for OBL to still be breathing, much less thumbing his nose at Bush and the rest of us. If anyone else were president, OBL would be long dead. I sure hope the sheeple see it that way.

47. Sooooo....
By this reasoning Mr. Undecided Voter looks at this tape and says, "Hey, Osama hates Bush, that means Bush must be REALLY bad, I'll just go vote for Kerry."

I agree with the thinking that this helps Bush. It reminds Mr. Undecided that Osama is still out there and could be moments away from releasing a suitcase nuke in Manhattan. Better vote Bush, who we KNOW will go bomb some Arabs in retaliation, unlike that French girly-man, Kerry.

15. "and the rest of the time condemsn shrub and everything he has done."

Which is, of course, precisely the point : OBL puts out a videotape *four days before the U.S. election* on which he (1) admits attacking the U.S., (2) reminds Americans to vote ("your security is in your hands"), and then (3) goes into a rant about why Bush is bad (stealing directly from many of Bush's legitimate domestic critics, which effectively turns their *legitimate* complaints into "Osama said that!" political kryptonite). How this could *not* be seen as a blatant ploy to push the election in Bush's direction is a mystery to me.

5. Osamba Wants Bush Reelected
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 06:55 PM by Jon8503
Why would'nt he want Bush reselected? Bush is totally ignorant of any history, any understanding of world affairs, any understanding of the Muslim religion or culture.

This would be the best thing to happen to Osamba if Bush was reselected or elected for once by the people.

No world support for Bush. Probably total world support for Kerry plus support for Kerry to help end the Iraq debacle.

That is who Osamba is hoping gets into the White House and he doesn't care if he goes back in by the Supreme Court.

I just hope the American People can see it.

11. If the press goes that way, it tells us what we already know
The corporations, which own the media outlets, control the White House. If that is the only spin we see, we'll know that they prefer an easily controlled retard propped up in that office. And that is ALL it means.

I would like to be so bold as to make an activist suggestion. If you see an article or news report that suggests this tape will somehow benefit the weecowboy, take a minute to fire off an email and vehemently disagree. Tell the author of the piece that it is a sad goddamn day in America when the guy who GOT AWAY benefits the IDIOT WHO LET HIM GET AWAY.

The old timers here are better with the media lists than I am, but I do strongly urge everyone to spend five or ten minutes giving these assholes some feedback.

I'm outraged at the suggestion that this makes 'smokim outta there holes' 'dead or alive' ...er 'not a priority' stumblebum a more viable option. It's egregious!!

13. It fits their pre-conceived notion that the terrorism issue helps Bush.
Much the same way they seem to think that a terrorist attack would "help" Bush. Because America isn't Spain, I guess?

If one believes the Bush line that Kerry is somehow 'soft' on terrorism, that's one thing. Bush is obviously shoving that down everyone's throats, which is truly the only reason he's even competitive in this election.

However, I honestly don't see how reminding America that Osama's still happy and healthy helps make the case that Bush's repsonse to terrorism has been the correct approach.

My hope is that the debate will shift to; "Why is Osama still alive?" If this shift happens, we win this issue.

Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 07:06 PM by tommyleef
The headline is simple-- Bush Failed to Track Down 9/11 Attackers. Kerry's initial comments on the tape were much more 'Presidential' than the irritated and eye batting expression and response of Bush.

22. OBL is right
provocative title, I know, but he's right in the sense that Bush's continuation, and acceleration, of the same policies of Empire, violence and arrogance we've followed for decades has only fueled the fire underlying the terrorists rage. Terrorism is wrong, but we need to get at the root causes of such extremism. Perpetual war solves nothing, but that is the bankrupt plan of the Chimp cabal, which cares not a whit about solving anything. They LOVE war.

27. Joel Goldstein is a boob
"My visceral reaction is that it could hurt Kerry. I don't think the American people will take kindly to Osama bin Laden stepping into our election," said St. Louis University political scientist Joel Goldstein.

"It's an unfortunate 11th hour diversion but it reminds people of the terrorist threat and that's Bush's strong point," Goldstein said.

THE TERRORIST THREAT IS BUSH'S STRONG POINT? WTF color is the sky in Mr. Goldsteins world? In Sept. 01 there are 3000 people dead on Jr's watch, the pentagon is up in flames, and millions of New Yorkers are running through the streets for their lives, while buildings and body parts rain down on them.

The terrorists threat is Bush's strong point. That sentiment about the junta always just floors me.

30. for what it is worth, here is my take on this..
Since we live in the twilight zone, Imagine if you will ....
That Bin Laden is actually an operative of the corporate fascist regime that currently rules our once great nation. He was originally trained by the CIA. His family has prospered greatly from this war as has the Bush family, as has Cheney. Chaos in the middle east is money in the bank and power for the chosen few. Having George's man Osama come out with any message this close to election is a boost for the dumb man. If will inflame every American who still believes 911 was legit. It will help solidify Bush's base. It might even scare a few people away from voting for Kerry.

My personal opinion. Kerry will win the popular vote by a large margin and lose the electoral vote because of shenanigans in the battleground states. Lawsuits will follow and eventually George will retain his crown. It will be like a Don King fight.

31. Will see how this plays out in the Media
If the Media plays by White House Rules then this is clearly a gift to Bush. But if we start seeing clips of what Bush said about not giving Bin Laden much thought (which I doubt will happen) then this could be the nail in his coffin. Whatever the outcome you have to remember that this killed the explosives story and now turns it back to 9/11 and the war on terror which is clearly Bush's strength according to the polls.

I guarantee you people are reading this shit and going :wtf:

Kerry anticipated something like this. He's been harping for weeks about Chimpy letting OBL go and now here's evidence of that failure. People will have his criticisms in mind when hearing about this and know he was right.

People are going to hold Chimpy accountable and ask themselves why media whores are telling them they should think differently. A big reckoning is coming.

39. Analysts, has obsessing over facts taken over your life? Help's available
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 08:31 PM by ceejayay
Analysts Anonymous (tm) is a 12-step program tailored specifically to the needs of analysts swept away by the fast pace of current events. How to know if it is for you:

a) Has your capacity to discern colors (ex: seeing black as white or red as green) been diminished or rendered nonexistent?

b) Upon reading or hearing news, do you feel an overwhelming need to shoot off your mouth and voice demonstrably absurd opinions out of fear of rejection or encroaching stupidity?

c) Do you regularly tie up phone lines and computer modems simply to make points that absolutely no one but yourself cares you're making?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you need the powerful rehabilitation that Analysts Anonymous offers. In just six months of sessions you will be singing group reaffirmations like a nightingale. Groups are forming in your area every day. Check your phone book or do a web search for more information.

51. Mere Moonshine, That View
All this does is re-emphasize the failures of the criminals of the '00 Coup in prosecuting the war against the Islamic fundamentalist radicals who atacked our country. It gives new edge and further sustains the line that the criminals missed a golden opportunity to catch this wretch by "outsourcing" the job at Tora Bora, and to the colossal distraction from this vital effort the invasion of Iraq reoresents. It drives home to the people that for all the bluster of the Andover cheerleader, all his "Dead or alive" and "We'll smoke 'em out" and his "You can run but you can't hide" posturings, the fact is that Bin Ladin has indeed evaded the might of the United States, as this has been directed by this criminally incompetent administration, and is still in operation and doing quite well for himself. It is an excellent and sovereign reminder of the failures of this administration in what most people consider a vital matter, and gives the lie entirely to the Andover cheerleader's pretense that he is up to the job of protecting the nation. For that, better to turn to someone who has actually closed with an armed enemy, and shot him dead....

"If you repeat a lie often enough, you are a Republican."

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"
