Thune campaign flyer upsets Lakota people

ROSEBUD, S.D. - A campaign flyer from John Thune's campaign office started a groundswell of resentment as it brought back some unpleasant memories of racism in South Dakota.

A flyer with a picture of prairie dogs on the front with the words ''The dogs are lining up to vote for Tom Daschle,'' appeared in many western South Dakota mail boxes just a week before the election.

Prairie dogs are a major problem for ranchers in the state, and it has become a campaign issue.

And to add fuel to the fire, Thune campaign workers were caught taking photos of people who voted early on the Rosebud Reservation.

Republican Party = KKK What truly awful, classless, ignorant people republicans are. Knuckledraggers.

It is no wonder that they do not believe in evolution - the process of natural selection has left them behind, and in the same category as the neanderthal. Let's hope the species, homo republicanensis, dies out naturally, and very soon, so that humanity can evolve more rapidly without them always slowing us down.

1. Things must be different in SD
If they sent that around here, we'd think it was pro-Daschle. Them 'dogs is cute!

3. wtf is the point of this ad?
typical republican stuff--no issues just an obscure and stupid association between 2 things that have nothing to do with each other.

6. I love the graphic
The flyer has been torn in anger, then pasted back together! Proof of their skullduggery!

7. Cry Hubris! And let slip the Doggerel of War!
Just a taste of this.... uh, "song":

"Let the eagle fly
Oh she's far to young to die
You can see it in her eye
She's not yet begun to fly".

:puke: :puke: :puke:

8. That's terrible ....
but it is part of what is starting to happen around the country. There are several Native American nations (or "tribes") who have decided that the risks posed by the republican machine requires that they participate in the 2004 elections. Indians can make the difference in several key states between which party runs Washington DC. And most are not voting republican. It's going to be important for the non-Indian community to confront this type of hateful crap.
