Voters: Newly registered pose new variables
Oct. 31, 2004
snip-------
Across Pennsylvania, Democrats picked up 260,000 new voters since the April primaries, for a total of 3,966,000 registered Democrats. Republicans gained 156,000 voters, for a total of 3,386,000 voters.

That pattern held in the five-county Philadelphia region, where new Democrats outnumbered new Republicans by more than 2-1. Democrats won the registration rush even in the heavily Republican Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

"I really hate what Bush is doing in Iraq. All the money we're wasting over there just drives me crazy," said David Gates, 18, of Levittown. He reports being bombarded with "Vote or Die" messages while watching MTV.

"It's everywhere. 'Vote or Die.' 'Choose or Lose.' Everyone's going to vote that I know," Gates said.

2. The rich and powerful ignore the young at their peril
France very famously learned this lesson. Oh, but that's France.

Looks like it's our turn. Just wait- after the election we'll start hearing about "misguided, uninformed" young people all across the RW airwaves. It's silly, of course... young people today are better informed than ever before.

3. For states where they don't have early voting, have they
increased the number of polling places and voting machines to accommodate all these new voters?

What if they haven't? What if people are still standing in line when the polls are supposed to close? What then?

4. Encourage all Dems and Kerry voting independents to get to the polls
really early on Tuesday. Sleep outside the polls overnight if possible.

Make republican voters stand in the back of the line and pay for their attempts to discourage and disenfranchise voters.

5. Kerry has an enormous lead among New Voters nationally.
In some of the orger swing states like Ohio, Kerry has a five to one lead in New Registrations. IN Florida, Kerry has a smaller lead in New Registrations butthe net result in the differentual between Republicans and Democrats in Florida is that there are 359,000 more Democrats in the state than Republicans. IN estimates of the early voters, Democrats are coming out in far greater numbers than ususal in an election, while Republicans are not coming out in any greater numbers than they do on average. Evn with high voter turnout, Democrats are turning out higher than republicans in Florida.

Bush's visit to Florida todat co-incided with a brand new "Geoprge Bush will reinstate the Draft Commercial" Giving indications from Newspaper articles about things that are being done which indicates a draft is in the works, such as reactivating draft boards, and appoiting people to sit on them
