Man charged with threatening Cheney makes initial court appearance
By Associated Press, 10/31/2004 18:15

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) A man charged with threatening the life of Vice President Dick Cheney during a campaign visit appeared Sunday in federal court, where a judge ordered him jailed until a bond hearing later in the week.

Homer O. Shoup Jr., 51, was expected to be appointed a lawyer in time for the bond hearing, said Faron Paramore, resident agent in charge of the U.S. Secret Service in Grand Rapids. Shoup is being held in Kent County Correctional Facility.

Shoup is accused of calling 911 Friday morning and telling dispatchers he had turned his van into a bomb and planned to try and kill Cheney by crashing the vehicle into the Lansing venue where the vice president was to speak.

I'm hoping he's going to feel better on Wednesday.

4. That story DOES sound a little improbable, doesn't it?
The right-wingers in Republican administrations like Reagan's have been known for concocting bogus stories and planting them for their own reasons.

How many people who plan to actually carry out a killing would call 911? For what reason? To be caught? Wouldn't being caught prevent the killing? If it would, wouldn't the caller be considered unstable and stashed somewhere for evaluation?

Truly silly. Right-wingers are so feeble, aren't they? Their lies are too stupid to make any sense.

5. What kind of jail time will Cheney get for killing Americans and Iraqis?
... and destroying millions of lives here and abroad, and stealing billions?
