Fla. Secretary of State Endures Skepticism

<snip>

"It's unfortunate that she has acted in an extremely partisan manner and I lay the blame at the feet of Jeb Bush because I think she's following his orders," Maddox said citing a litany of offenses:

_ Her office fought a lawsuit Democrats had filed to keep Ralph Nader (news - web sites) off the Nov. 2 ballot. Democrats, who blame Nader for Gore's defeat in 2000, eventually lost their case.

_ Hood refused to allow Democrats to name a replacement for a congressional candidate facing incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw. Hood said Jim Stork, who stopped campaigning due to a heart condition, missed a deadline to withdraw. A judge later said she was wrong.

_ Hood recommended voter registration forms that did not have a citizenship box checked be rejected. Many of the incomplete forms were turned in by groups registering minority voters, who tend to support Democrats. So far, Hood has successfully fought lawsuits challenging her decision.

2. Saying Hood was not a full activist is bogus.
Here in Florida, like possibly all other areas, there is pressure on people to go along, to get along. Anyone who has a differing opinion is called a dissenter and is quickly ostracized. And the way they go about doing it is characteristic to small towns. So, you don't have to be an ACTIVIST to be a Republican hack. Just don't stir trouble for them and if you can do what you THINK they want you to do, even better.

3. Wait a minute...trying to keep someone off the ballot
is about as cheap and dirty as you can get. Yes,Repubs are much worse than Dems but saying that they tried to block your dirty tricks(keeping Nader off ballot) so that makes them dirty is convoluted logic. Do I want Nader on the ballot in Florida...no,thats not the point. If Dems had stolen the election from the Repubs in 2000 I would be very vocally opposed to it. Just because my side profits from something doesn't mean its right or I like it. Have Americans lost all sense of whats fair? Is there no right and wrong anymore...just saying HURRAY FOR MY SIDE no matter what?

6. I've already called Senator Connie Mack to call for Glenda Hoods
resignation. She has had four years to get our elections in FL right, she failed, she gets fired, simple as that! If she won't get fired by Bush's crooked brother Jeb, then she should be pressured to resign. We will not have another Katherine Harris debacle, period. Please, all Floridians on this website, call your Senator, Connie Mack and request that he call for Hoods resignation!

" Despite recent scrutiny, Hood maintains a smile as people around the country say she's acting on the side of politics instead of the voter. The former Orlando mayor isn't focusing on criticism, instead saying she is only trying to do her job and remain nonpartisan."

Ha, you're as nonpartisan as I am! Get over your republican-assed self, Bitch! ...you ought to be in a state prison instead of the state house.
