Many don't see the benefit of prescription-drug bills
PRINCETON, N.J. — Like many of her friends, 71-year-old Claire Krulik has carefully calculated what she spends on prescription medicines and how much help she can expect if Congress agrees to add drug coverage to Medicare.

Her stark conclusion: She would be better off without either of the dueling plans facing the House and Senate this fall. Both include a complicated array of premiums, deductibles, co-payments and gaps in coverage. Krulik, who takes medicines for diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and other ailments, gets her drugs from Canada, where they cost up to 50% less. "For me, it wouldn't be worthwhile," she says of the potentially historic drug-benefit legislation moving through Congress. "I'd still be better off getting my medications from Canada."

1. What's she complaining about?
Isn't it enough that her tax dollars are rebuilding Iraq, the military-industrial complex, and ensuring that all Iraqis have access to health care?

Some people are such whiners! Geez!

/sarcasm off

2. Just back from Connecticut
and a friend of my father's went to a town hall meeting with Larsen (D-CT) who tried to explain the prescription drug benefit bills. The basic conclusion by the attendees is that it's a mess!

6. He is saying
"It wasn't I who chopped down the cheery tree"

He often confuses himself with that other George W. who was the father of our country. Delusional !!!

5. Don't bother to calculate what you don't have, yet.
No benefits are to kick in until 2006. There will not be a penny in the treasury to pay for it by then. This is just another Roverian plot. Whistle ass gets to claim he got it passed to get the 2004 Medicare votes, but then does not have to deliver. Lies and the lying liers who tell them. There are all kinds of ways to scam the voters. I am just really pleased to see so many seniors, me included, who see through this scam. The old-timers are not as easily bush-wacked as the young-ens are.
