Bombshell hits government's claims - UK Guardian latest update
<http://www.guardian.co.uk/hutton/story/0,13822,1034862,00.html>

snip:

Tony Blair and Alastair Campbell were today dealt a devastating blow when an intelligence officer revealed there were deep concerns over the strength of the language used in the Iraq intelligence dossier.
One officer described some of the assessments of the threat posed by Iraq in the dossier as "overegged".

And in a bombshell revelation, it was revealed that David Kelly did know of concerns over the claims that the Iraqis could launch chemical weapons within 45 minutes of an instruction to do so, the central allegation that sparked the war between the BBC and the government.

How much more can England take, kick The Poodle out!!!

2. Let's see, English news cycle is 6-8 weeks ahead of the US
Does that mean that the WMD lies will still be in the news in October or early November?

Perhaps the US stories will be making hay on Joe Wilson's allegations against senior officials in the Whitehouse...

4. Blair has overegg on his face.
But Labor has a problem: Blair is their PM. If they vote no-confidence, the Tories will have a chance to win an election. Does Labor have any other recourse?

The problem is the Labour MP's are mostly Blair ass-kissers.

8. I love the Parliamentary system
If Blair (and the Gummt) is defeated in the HOUSE in a no-confidence vote then there will be an election. If he is defeated inside the Labour Party as leader, then he steps down as PM and is replaced by another Labour Party member who becomes PM. No General Election. In the UK tha PARTY is elected, not the man. The leader of that Party becomes PM.

9. Saigon, don't you know bush has been promoted...
... to deserter! AWOL is only the first 30 days then you're a deserter. Which brings me to another point... how can this deserter send truly patriotic boys and girls 12,000 mi away to 125 deg heat... oh shit... I don't even want to get started. I can't take any more of this rage I'm feeling.

7. They overegged the sexed-up dodgy dossier?
Where are Gilbert & Sullivan? Golly, but they would have a lot of fun with this! I'd have fun with it, too, but the thought that thousands of people have died because of this sort of tames the mirth.

And here's why Blair won't be stepping down anytime soon: Imagine George W. Bush in the dock, facing his judges: Dennis Hastert, Tom DeLay, Whoever the Senate Majority Leader is Today, Crash Cart, Crisco Johnny, Colin Powell and Condi. I'll let the cannier DUers do the math, but you wouldn't get a conviction out of this kind of panel.
