Flynt: 'I'll flee if Bush wins'
Paris - American porn mogul Larry Flynt said he may decide to go into exile if George W Bush is re-elected president of the United States.

"If Bush is re-elected - but I don't want to even consider the thought for one second - I really have to think about living somewhere else," Flynt said early Monday in a strip club on the Champs Elysees in Paris where he was celebrating his 62nd birthday.

Flynt, who made his fortune after publishing the popular porn magazine Hustler, said he had come to Paris to "escape the nauseating atmosphere of the electoral campaign".

1. Your not the only one Larry...
If Bush is actually elected this time, I'm seriously considering relocating to New Zealand.

25. It will then become the inevitable road to impeachment once all the dirt
that we are aware of bleeds into the American psyche.... especially if we achieve a majority in the House and Senate.... at least now we would have a REAL reason for impeachment hearings....

And I see we have a real American posting here.... way to be. :)

13. I took a trip to New Zealand during the winter of Bush Sr's Gulf War
The place is excellent. Beautiful weather, nice people, not very crowded. If you have work skills and are young, it is a vast improvement in living-standard over any state in the USA, (except northern Wisconsin.)

22. right on
You could work on some glorious films there as well. I believe Krugman once said it might be the safest place in a time of turmoil anyway.

2. This is bad news. We don't want to create an incentive for Bush voters.
Just kidding. I love Larry.

I remember the great line about him after he disclosed the info on Livingstone and Gingrich:

--In the land of proven hypocrites, the one-eyed pornographer is king!

3. He may be more effective working outside the US
He'd have more leeway in publishing whatever he digs up on BushCo.

5. Yeah
and how come he never published those nekkid shots of the entire Bush crew?
Babs, Poppy and Dubya all had nekkid photos taken when they were freshmen.
It was an Ivy League eugenics thing, don't try to understand it.

12. Precisely - and if you are going to go, then go!
The only person who left who said he was going to leave if Bush won in 2000 was Pierre Salinger. I know Johnny Depp lives in France but I think that was the case prior to 2000.

And seriously, if you're going to go, then go. I don't think many people give a crap if some high paid celebrity who can afford to live anywhere they wish decides to leave the country. Announcing it is just a shallow attempt to generate some press in an effort to feed their ever needy egos.

20. Relying only on memory here, didn't Charlie Sheen say he'd leave?
Also Alec Baldwin.

I could be mistaken, but that's what I remember.

29. Flynt has been a true patriot...
You may have problems with his porn connections, but his heart is in America. He one of the figures of history that has advanced the cause of free speech. Living elsewhere would allow him to be much more effective than under John Asscrack's thumb and the cheap bouncers of the SS (Secret Service), idiot.

Go Larry.

18. I moved from Texas to DC last year to get MORE active against bush.
If bush rips off another election, I will STEP UP my involvement against him by taking a lower-paying job to work full-time against him rather than part-time. there's no better place to work against him than DC, where i plan to stay and fight, as many others do, if he steals another one.
But i understand moving to Canada or some other country to evade the draft, or even as a protest. Sometimes you need to get away for your mental health, and i don't see that as cowardice. you can always return when u feel better.
When my kids get of draft age, I will move with them out of this country if we are in an offensive war like iraq. if it's a truly defensive war, like WWII, i will let them make up their own minds. but there's no fucking way i will let them die or get maimed for life so some rich asshole can get richer.

19. Hustler is a piece of Americana.
There are many who would miss Mr. Flynt dearly if he left. I am one, but I would understand. I would rather not see Mr. Flynt in a re-education camp with a number scrawled on the back of his neck watching endless videos of Ashcroft talking about Jesus and the benevolent George W Bush. I understand Larry, but I'll miss you.

By the way, does this mean I will have to pay the international rate for Jail Babes?

23. I left after Bu$h stole the first election, and may get farther away if he
steals this one.

Have started setting up tentative underground railroad for young folks who get drafted but don't want to die for Bu$h.

Just in case; it is, IMO, wise to be prepared for emergencies.
