International observers watch election in Albuquerque

By: Associated Press

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - International observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe are in Albuquerque watching the election.

Observers include parliamentarians from Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain. The international observers were invited to watch the US elections by Secretary of State Colin Powell.

They had a list of questions they asked presiding judges, including what type of technology was used, whether voters have to show identification and whether voting secrecy was protected. They also chatted with voters, getting a feel for the election.

1. Sounds like they heard about the touch screen debacle earlier
in Bernalillo county.

It'd be nice if they were in Espanola, too (Rio Arriba county)

4. Did they gain access in Ohio?
I read that they weren't allowed to enter various election rooms (of course, it was the Rethugs that forbid them to enter).

5. 3:30 pm mountain time and exit polling shows NM at a tie of 49
CO and NV are too close to call, though I think CO just inched up a bit for Kerry.

I think Palast said there would be attempts to steal in those states as well.
