Police to keep close eye on National Penis Day

Police will monitor a planned nude event in the heart of Christchurch today, and will act against any "offensive behaviour".


A radio station is celebrating National Penis Day by asking people to get their clothes off for a naked art picture shoot in Cathedral Square....


The city council has granted permission for the event as long as it is conducted in a sensitive and discreet manner. Signs will be erected in the square warning the public who may be offended by the scene.

National Penis Day is aimed at raising awareness of men's sexual and genital health issues in a frank and open manner.

Well, those New Zealanders are on to something, I think. If we can have a right-wing fundie "National Day of Prayer," I think we ought to give penises equal time, too.
